TEMPLES
WAT XIENG THONG
Luang Prabangs oldest temple and most magnificent temple is a prime example of the Luang Prabang style of temple architecture. It is situated towards the end of the peninsula at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers.
WAT VISOUN
This temple to the south of the town centre, originally built entirely of wood, was for many years a museum of religious arts. Its famous for its watermelon shaped stupa.
THAT PHOUSI
Also known as Wat That Chomsi, and located at the top of Phousi ,this is the most prominent landmark in Luang Prabang and provides magnificent views of the town.
OTHER IMPORTANT TEMPLES
These include Wat Sene,Wat Nong,Wat That Luang,Wat Manolom.In Chomphet across the river is Wat Xieng Mene.Wat Long Khoun,and Wat Chomphet.
WATERFALLS
TAD KUANG SI
This muti tiered waterfall with spectactular limestone deposits is situated 30 km from LuangPrabang. Or by a 3 hour walk from Ban Long Lao.
TAD SAE
A series of cascading step waterfalls in natural surroundings 15 km southeast of Luang Prabang.Accessible from the town by road or boat.

BAN LONG LAO
A Hmong and khmu village in beautiful natural surroundings with local guides to walk to Kuang Si waterfalls.
BAN PHANOM
A village famous for its Lue textiles
BAN XIENG MENE
Across the Mekong from Luang Probing ,in Chomphet with paths to surrounding villages and temples and splendid views of town.
BAN XIENG LEK ,BAN XANG KONG
Both official cultural villages where traditional crafts including weaving paper and drum making are still practiced. Acessible from town by road.
BAN CHAN
This village on the Chomphet side of the Mekong is well known for traditional pottery.An hour walk from Ban Xieng Mene or a short boat ride from Luang Prabang.
